Fieldbus Foundation Releases HSE-RIO Preliminary Specification

Specification defines expanded structure for interfacing remote I/O over HSE network

AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 14, 2010 — The Fieldbus Foundation today announced that its Foundation High Speed Ethernet Remote I/O (HSE-RIO) preliminary specification is now available to its membership for review. Part of the foundation’s Wireless and Remote I/O initiative, this specification defines the first in a series of interoperable gateways (a smart RTU) to bring control I/O (both analog and discrete) back to plant automation systems over the an international standard, high-speed network.

Dr. Gunther Kegel, Pepperl+Fuchs executive, elected as chairman

AUSTIN, Texas, November 15, 2010 — The Fieldbus Foundation today announced that Dr. Gunther Kegel, president, Pepperl+Fuchs GmbH, has been elected chairman of the foundation board of directors. Dr. Kegel replaces John Berra of Emerson Process Management, who is retiring after serving 16 years in his foundation leadership post.

Fieldbus Foundation Announces First Registered Devices Implementing Advanced Field Diagnostics

New diagnostics technology will optimize plant asset management programs

H1 CTK 3.0 supports up-to-date hardware platform, operating systems and test case functionality

The kit provides enhanced capabilities for development and testing of Foundation fieldbus H1 (31.25 kbit/s) device communications stacks, and has been updated to support a current hardware platform and operating systems and expanded test case functionality.
