FFUKMC Sponsors Hazardex In The Regions 2014/15

rb_at_hazardex_aberdeen_2014_webThe Fieldbus Foundation UK Marketing Committee (FFUKMC) played a leading role in the recent Hazardex In The Regions conference and exhibition series 2014/2015 as an event sponsor, exhibitor and conference speaker.

Events took place in Aberdeen (8th October 2014), London (26th November 2014) Swansea (28th January 2015) and Ellesmere Port (25th February 2015).

Richard Barnes, chairmen - FFUKMC presented a paper that addresses "The application of Foundation fieldbus and the intelligent field towards improving safety in hazardous area process plant".

ellesmere_port_hazardex_feb_2015_webA table top exhibition in an adjoining area offered all conference delegates and exhibition visitors the opportunity to view and discuss participants' products and services with company and organisation representatives. The Fieldbus Foundation display included a live Foundation technology demonstration for a practical, hands-on understanding of the technology, its application and usability.

UK Study Day Series 2013 Kicks Off With Success in London - 26 Feb

uk_study_day_london_26.2.13_rb_presentingThe Fieldbus Foundation UK Marketing Committee (FFUKMC) welcomed 28 participants including end users and contractors to its Foundation Technology Study Day held at the Emerson Process Management offices in Baker Street, London, on Tuesday 26 February, 2013.

The morning session, from 10.00-12.00, included an introduction to Foundation technology and solutions, and an insight into the lifecycle economics of the system.

The afternoon session, from 14.00-16.00, presented a more in-depth programme of presentations and practical workshops with a focus on supporting a Foundation installation through asset management; device replacement; calibration and recommended maintenance practices.

FFUKMC Welcomes Richard Barnes as New Chairman

rnb_casualThe Fieldbus Foundation UK Marketing Committee (FFUKMC) welcomes Richard Barnes as its new Chairman.

Currently AMS Consultant - Strategic Services Group Europe, at Emerson Process Management, he replaces Mike O'Neill of R.Stahl who stepped down from the position after nearly two years, following a career move.

Mike Keightley of Yokogawa has taken over the position of Vice-Chairman from Barnes.

Another UK Sports Venue - Another FOUNDATION Fieldbus Roadshow!

twickenham_groupThe Fieldbus Foundation UK Marketing Committee (FFUKMC) recently added another famous sporting venue to its list of "Fieldbus Goes Live!" end user roadshow locations.

The latest roadshow took place at the Twickenham rugby ground, London, on Tuesday 12th October 2010.

The event followed a similar format to previous successful roadshows held at other key sporting venues across the UK including Brands Hatch racing circuit, Wembley stadium, Madejski stadium, city of Manchester stadium and the Riverside stadium. In addition to a full presentation program, attendees also enjoyed a complimentary lunch, the opportunity to have a tour of the pitch side facilities, and a chance to win a pair of match tickets for the England v South Africa match at the end of November.

"Fieldbus Goes Live!" Seminar Series Continues Through October

"Fieldbus Goes Live," the end-user road show series from the Fieldbus Foundation UK Marketing Committee (FFUKMC), continued with two more venues, one held at the Brands Hatch racing circuit, Kent, on Tuesday, Oct. 13 and another at the Catch training centre, Humberside, on Thursday, Oct. 15. Each event attracted more than 30 attendees.

Seminar At Wembley Stadium - A Great Success!

Following a similar format to previous successful roadshows held at other famous sporting venues across the UK, the seminar was held on September 25th at Wembley Stadium, London.

Dr Graeme Philp Elected Chairman of EMEA EAC

ff0522_graeme0060April 22 2008 - The Fieldbus Foundation is pleased to announce that Dr. Graeme Philp has been elected as Chairman to its Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) Executive Advisory Council (EAC).  Dr. Philp is Chief Executive of the MTL Instruments Group plc, based in Luton, UK, and has been a member of the EMEA EAC since its inauguration in February 2005. Elections took place at the annual meeting held during the recent Interkama 2008 international trade fair in Hannover, Germany.


Live Demos - the Key to Reading Seminar Success

image_012The Fieldbus Foundation UK Marketing Committee was delighted with the success of the latest seminar in a series of road shows held at the Madejski Stadium, Reading on 9 April. The committee had originally anticipated approximately 35 attendees and was pleased to welcome twice as many to the event.

In addition to presentations about the value of Foundation fieldbus in terms of Process Integrity, Business Intelligence and Open, Scaleable Integration of information across process manufacturing plants, live system demonstrations provided by ABB, Emerson Process Management, Honeywell and Yokogawa were held. Field measurement devices from ABB, Beka Associates, Emerson Process Management, Endress & Hauser, Honeywell, Invensys, Krohne, Moore Hawke, MTL, Pepperl+Fuchs, Smar, Topworx, Turck Banner, Vega and Yokogawa were connected and shown running.

These practical demonstrations showed the adding and removing of devices, fault tolerance and alarm handling and were welcomed by the audience.

As an added extra to the day's seminar program, attendees were also invited to take part in a tour of the football stadium facilities.

All participants gave positive feedback with almost all citing the live content of the seminar as the most beneficial part.

Successful EMEA End User and Marketing Seminar Conference in London

London, UK, October 15, 2007 - The Fieldbus Foundation held its second combined EMEA User and Industry Association Consultation Meeting and EMEA Annual Marketing conference at the Engineering Employers' Federation headquarters in London, UK, from 17-19 September 2007.

Thirty five delegates participated in the three day event including representatives from major users of FoundationTM technology and industry associations, together with members of the Fieldbus Foundation EMEA Executive Advisory Council (EMEA EAC), the EMEA Steering Committee and the global Fieldbus Foundation End User Advisory Council (EUAC).
