In a special meeting of the Fieldbus Foundation India Committee (FFIC) member companies held on the 16th of April, 2010, at Royal Orchid Central Grazia-Vashi, Navi Mumbai, FFIC congratulated Shri B.R. Mehta, Chairman FF India End Users Council & Sr. Vice President Reliance Industries Ltd., for the milestone achievement of delivering the keynote address, at the Fieldbus Foundation General Assembly held in Houston Texas.

At the Fieldbus Foundation's General Assembly held March 24-25 at the Houstonian Hotel, Houston, Texas, the keynote address was delivered by B.R. Mehta, senior vice president, Reliance Industries Ltd., who described the installation of Foundation fieldbus at the new Jamnagar Refinery & Petrochemicals complex in Jamnagar, Western India.

Mehta serves as chairman of the Fieldbus Foundation's End User Council-India and is a member of its End User Advisory Council (EUAC) worldwide. In addition, he is chairman of the Instrumentation Experts Club in Mumbai, India, and sits on the Board of Governors for Automation 2010-India's largest industrial automation exhibition and conference planned for September 21-24 in Mumbai.

The Fieldbus Foundation India Marketing Committee (FFIMC), the Fieldbus Foundation India End User Council and the ISA - Chennai Chapter hosted a one-day Foundation Fieldbus end user conference and meeting at the IIT Convention Centre, Adayar, Chennai, on Saturday 6^th February 2010. Instrumentation professionals, engineers, engineering consultants, EPCs and members of the ISA based in and around Southern India were able to share their knowledge and applications experiences and had the opportunity to gain practical insights from a live Honeywell demonstration system.

The Fieldbus Foundation India Marketing Committee (FFIMC) and its end user council (FFIEUC) conducted a successful end user training day on 18 December 2009 at Larson & Toubro's Mahape conference room, Mumbai. Attended by 60+ delegates from in and around the Mumbai area, the agenda included presentations on various aspects of Foundation technology including components, calibration, condition monitoring and engineering advantages of Foundation technology, together with a live demonstration of a Foundation control system.

The Fieldbus Foundation India Marketing Committee (FFIMC), and its users' wing, Fieldbus Foundation End User Council (FFIEUC), conducted  a one day National End Users Meeting & Conference at  ITC-The Maratha, Sahar Road, Andheri (East), Mumbai. The conference got an overwhelming response and had more than 250 participants from various end users and vendors, from the Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Primaries, Food & Pharmaceuticals industry. The deliberations of the day kept the audience engaged up till 06:30 pm, yearning to learn more of the fast growing technology.

The FFIMC exhibited at the recent Automation 2008 exhibition & conference held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai, India, from Sept 25-28 2008. Visitors to the FFIMC stand could see live demonstrations of Foundation technology using five control systems with field devices, calibrators, components, cables and peripherals from many member companies.

The FFIMC also hosted a conference on Sept 26 with the theme "Fieldbus Foundation - Paradigm Change in Instrumentation Technology" which was a great success with a record number of attendees.

Organised by the FFIMC and the ISA Gujarat Chapter, a seminar on 'Foundation Fieldbus for End Users' was held in Gujarat, India, on Saturday 21 June 2008.

Over 200 end users, engineers and industrialists attended the seminar and heard presentations from several of the FFIMC's members on Foundation technology and its applications. The seminar provided the platform for a major step forward in the awareness and adoption of Foundation technology in India. Go to 'read more' to download the presentations from the event.

Following on from the success of its Mumbai User Event in August 2007, the FFIMC participated in the second event of its first year of operation. The committee hosted an interoperability display booth and Foundation fieldbus training session as part of the Delhi ISA Expo held Nov 30 - Dec 2 2007 in Delhi, India.

The Fieldbus Foundation India Marketing Committee (FFIMC) held its first ever technology event in Mumbai, India, on August 24 2007. A record number of participants attended the event which was reported to be a huge success.

Bangalore, India, May 23 2007- The Fieldbus Foundation today announced the establishment of an India marketing committee. The organisation, which is made up of representatives of leading process automation companies, will promote adoption of Foundation fieldbus technology throughout the Indian market.

Meeting on a monthly basis, the Fieldbus Foundation India Marketing Committee (FFIMC) aims to organise a wide range of fieldbus-related activities, including training seminars, trade show displays, and end user demonstrations.
