FOUNDATION Fieldbus Seminar Attracts Large Crowd In China

Event features fieldbus technology presentations by leading Chinese end users

AUSTIN, Texas, December 1, 2008 — The Fieldbus Foundation today announced that a fieldbus educational seminar held on November 13, 2008, at the Ramada Pearl Hotel in Guangzhou, China, attracted a crowd of nearly 200 attendees from various process industries. Hosted by the Fieldbus Foundation China Marketing Committee (FFCMC) and organized by the Chinese Foundation Fieldbus Committee (CFFC), the event featured presentations by leading Chinese end users describing the operational advantages and business benefits of implementing the Foundation plant automation infrastructure.

Fieldbus Foundation To Support ISA104 Demonstration At ISA EXPO 2008 In Houston

Exhibit will showcase global standard IEC 61804-3, EDDL and automation system interoperability

AUSTIN, Texas, Oct. 13, 2008 – The Fieldbus Foundation today announced it will join other control industry leaders in supporting Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL) solutions for process automation systems and devices at the ISA104 Standards Committee's booth (#1122) at ISA EXPO 2008 in Houston, Texas, October 14-16. Process automation systems supplied by ABB, Emerson, Invensys, and Siemens will demonstrate EDDL functionality, interoperating with devices from Emerson, Endress+Hauser, Foxboro Eckardt, Metso, MTL, Samson, and Siemens.

Latest DD updates streamline fieldbus development for device and system suppliers

AUSTIN, Texas, July 22, 2008 — The Fieldbus Foundation today announced the latest updates to its Foundation fieldbus Device Description (DD) tools and specifications.  The new releases for DD technology, which is fully compliant with the IEC 61804 and ISA104 Electronic Device Description Language (EDDL) profile, include enhanced versions of: DD Services (Version 5.1.0), DD Integrated Development Environment (Version 1.1.0), Device Description Language Interoperability Specification (FF-901), Device Description Language Specification (FF-900) and DD Library (Version 3.2).

Fieldbus Foundation Releases Final Device Coupler Test Specification

New specification enables greater robustness in Foundation fieldbus systems

AUSTIN, Texas, July 24, 2008 — The Fieldbus Foundation today announced the release of the final Foundation Device Coupler Test Specification (FF- 846 FS 1.0). This specification is designed for coupler manufacturers to perform a standard set of tests against their implementation. The test cases were developed by a team of volunteers comprised of current members of the foundation that manufacture coupler products, as well as end users interested in the availability of registered couplers.
