About Trine University
Founded in 1884, Trine University is a private, independent,
co-educational institution offering associate, baccalaureate and master's
degrees in more than 40 programs. It
maintains a 485-acre main campus in Angola, Ind., with off-campus centers in
Fort Wayne, South Bend, Schererville, Columbus, Logansport, and Indianapolis,
Ind.
Trine University offers FoundationTM
fieldbus training that is standardized but yet can be focused for the
industries in the region. Not only will courses be offered at the Indianapolis
Education Center but also can be provided at the customer facility per their
timing.
About Our Instructor
Dave Lancaster is a Control Systems engineer (registered
P.E. - Texas) with forty-four years experience in the Engineering and Contractor
business. He recently retired as the Chief Engineer for Control Systems for
Bechtel Oil, Gas & Chemical Inc. in Houston, Texas, with thirty years of
service. He has been heavily involved in Foundation Fieldbus technology
since 1999, and taught Foundation Fieldbus technology internally at
Bechtel. He is a senior member of ISA and has previously presented
at the A&M Symposium, ISA, the Fieldbus Foundation including the 2008
General Assembly in Antwerp, Belgium and other venues. He has also served
on the Board of Directors for the Emerson Global Users' Exchange for four
years, the Advisory Board and served on the Papers Committee for the Exchange
as well. Mr. Lancaster also serves as a technical editor for the Fieldbus Foundation's System Engineering Guideline (AG-181) and presents at the Foundation's traveling seminar road show in North America.
Fieldbus Courses
FF-300 FOUNDATION™ Certified Technical Specialist — This online plus four-day, on campus hands-on FOUNDATION Certified Technical Specialist program is designed for maintenance technicians, network technicians, maintenance and contract supervisors, vendor/contract service support specialists, control automation instructors and in-house trainers, as well as others who require competence to install, maintain, repair/replace and troubleshoot FOUNDATION fieldbus systems. Students have access to the online portion of the course (lectures & tests) four weeks prior to the on-campus classes.
FF-400 FOUNDATION™ Certified Professional — This comprehensive online plus four-day course on campus is a hands-on class that covers all areas of Fieldbus instrumentation: design, installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting. This course is designed for Engineers, Engineering Technologists, Integrators, Technologists, MICC (Main Instrumentation Controls Contractor)/MAC (Main Automation Contractor), EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction), Contract Administrators/Estimators, Certified Fieldbus Instructors, Programmer, Startup and Commissioning Specialist, Designers, System Analysts, and others who desire to be Fieldbus certified. Students have access to the online portion of the course (lectures & tests) four weeks prior to the on-campus classes.

FF-300 FOUNDATION Certified Technical Specialist
This online plus four-day, on campus hands-on FOUNDATION

- Maintenance, testing and troubleshooting
- Hands-on lab
There is no prerequisite for this class. Handout material included with course fee.

- Proper wiring and cabling techniques
- Device and network configurations
- Maintenance, testing and troubleshooting
- Hands-on lab
This class has no prerequisites. Handout material included with course fee.
