A global search function allows words or phrases to be located throughout the entire specification document.
The
latest version of the FOUNDATION Technical Specifications and FOUNDATION for Safety Instrumented Functions Technical Specifications can be found in the
Fieldbus Forums and is available to all foundation members with a specification
maintenance agreement. The Foundation Technical Specifications addresses a host
of features including; field diagnostics, H1 cable test specifications, power
supply test specifications, device description language (DDL) technology (which
is Implemented in millions of installed instruments around the world. DDL is a
text-based language describing the digital communication characteristics of
intelligent devices and equipment parameters in an Operating System (OS) and
User Interface (UI)-neutral environment. DDL enables a host system manufacturer
to create a single engineering environment capable of supporting any device,
from any supplier, using any communications protocol, without the need for
custom software drivers for each device type), device description
interoperability specifications, device coupler test specifications, host
interoperability support test profile and procedures, temperature and pressure
transducer blocks as well as numerous other component descriptions.
The updated DDL specification extends the concept of interoperability to the HMI and diagnostic data level with improved visualization and graphical features. New features focus on device data organization, graphical visualization consistency, and support for persistent data storage. These enhancements are backward and forward compatible due to the nature of the IEC 61804-2 standard.
Maintenance/update agreements are available. The Technical Specifications Support Forum provides 24/7 access to the specifications, updates and pending specification changes. The support forum offers easy to follow instructions for subscription to an automatic email notification of changes.
Corporate maintenance/update agreement holders may have an unlimited number of employees given access to the Technical Specifications Support Forum.
A single seat maintenance/update agreement is also available which includes access for one employee.
