Lille, France, October 4 - The Fieldbus Foundation's French Marketing Committee (FF FMC) is pleased with the success of its recent end user presentation and demonstration held in Lille, France, on Thursday 4th October.
The half day seminar presentation program focused on Foundation fieldbus solutions and the benefits and advantages to the end user. Attendees learnt how Foundation fieldbus technology unifies process integrity, business intelligence, and open, scalable integration as part of a single, plant-wide solution. Widely used in process industries, Foundation technology provides an automation infrastructure for operational excellence.
A key part of the event was a live, interoperable demonstration of five separate host systems with interfaces from three interface suppliers and multiple devices from five device suppliers. Attendees were able to gain hands-on practical experience of a range of products available to the industry and their interoperability within a Foundation fieldbus system.
Following the demonstration, reference systems and applications were presented and discussed. Attendees had the opportunity to consider applications within their own plants and raise any feedback, comments or concerns with fieldbus experts from the FF FMC.
A complimentary lunch concluded the event and provided a further opportunity for attendees to continue their discussions.
Claudie Damade, Chairman - FF FMC, was pleased with the feedback from attendees at the event. "We allowed more time to be spent on the hands-on demonstration and kept the presentations focused and concise. This has been well received by prospective users because they have been able to see for themselves how they can create a Foundation system within their own plants and have had their questions and concerns answered directly".
