Kiev, Ukraine, November 14, 2007-The Fieldbus Foundation CIS&B marketing committee (FF CIS&B MC) is delighted with the success of its recent Foundation Fieldbus end user seminar. The seminar was held on Tuesday 6th November 2007 during the 11th International Exhibition of Oil & Gas Industry - Oil & Gas® 2007, which took place at the International Exhibition Centre, Kiev, Ukraine.
The seminar was the first of a series of end user seminars being organised by the newly established FF CIS&B MC. With its theme "Foundation Fieldbus: How to Begin", the objective of the seminar was to introduce the basics of Foundation technology and its benefits to both current and prospective implementers of the technology.
The event was free to attend and attracted an audience of 14 end users, engineering contractors and suppliers from around the Kiev region. Dmitri Volkov, chairman - FF CIS&B MC, guided the audience through a general introduction to Foundation technology; an overview of systems engineering; and the benefits of implementing Foundation fieldbus in terms of the CAPEX and OPEX savings achievable. Vladimir Frolov, vice-chairman - FF CIS&B MC, presented more specific information about aspects of segment design.
Attendees were offered some practical, hands-on experience with a live Foundation fieldbus demonstration and also welcomed the opportunity for discussion during the question and answer session.
As well as enjoying the free seminar program and lunchtime hospitality, attendees were able to discuss some of the solutions and device options displayed by member companies throughout the day.
Dmitri Volkov, chairman - FF CIS&B MC, was very satisfied with the day, "The feedback that we have received today from all attendees has been very positive. We are delighted that our proposed series of seminars will introduce the benefits of Foundation technology to both current and prospective end users across the region." He continued, "We are now planning events to be held in Moscow and St Petersburg in the near future."
