Fieldbus Foundation Establishes Swedish Marketing Committee

GÖTEBORG, Sweden, November 30th, 2007 — The Fieldbus Foundation is pleased to announce the establishment of the Fieldbus Foundation Swedish marketing committee (FF-SW MC) to promote the adoption of Foundation technology throughout the Swedish market through a range of end user focused activities including supplier training sessions, trade show participation and end user seminars.

The FF-SW MC was formally launched at an inaugural meeting held on October 31st in Göteborg, Sweden, which was attended by representatives from ABB, Emerson Process Management, Honeywell, MooreHawke/JMEX, MTL/Intex Process, Pepperl+Fuchs, R.Stahl, Samson, Hans Turck and Yokogawa/Omni Process. The meeting was also supported by Travis Hesketh, Vice-Chairman - Fieldbus Foundation EMEA Steering Committee, and Roger Highton, Director – Fieldbus Foundation EMEA End User Councils.

At the meeting the FF-SW MC elected the committee and named Otto Erixon (MTL/Intex Process) as Chairman, Thomas Winemar (Hans Turck) as Vice-Chairman, and Peter Lindberg (Emerson Process Management) as Secretary.

Fully supported by the Fieldbus Foundation EMEA Executive Advisory Council (EAC) and the Fieldbus Foundation EMEA Steering Committee, the establishment of the FF-SW MC was welcomed by Travis Hesketh, “The established automation market is looking for opportunities to adopt Foundation technology to deliver business advantage.” He continued, “The Swedish committee and its members will play an important role in promoting the primary value propositions of Foundation technology and delivering CAPEX and OPEX savings to users.”

The committee’s plans for 2007/8 include hosting a fieldbus supplier training day on February 5th 2008; participation at the ITF exhibition and seminar (Stockholm, 6-7 February 2008); and an end user seminar in Göteborg in October 2008.
