Fieldbus Foundation member companies including Emerson Process Management, Honeywell, MTL, Yokogawa and others participated in the recent NEFTEGAZ 2008 exhibition, an international tradeshow for the oil and gas industry, at Moscow's Expocentre from June 24-26, 2008. Alongside the exhibition, the Russian Petroleum & Gas Congress strategic business conference was also held.
The Fieldbus Foundation's CIS&B Marketing Committee (FFCIS&B MC) ran a series of eight short presentations, hosted by member companies on the Emerson Process Management and MTL stands at the show.
The presentation, themed "Foundation Technology - Where To Begin", guided the audience through a general introduction to Foundation technology and the value of Foundation fieldbus in terms of Process Integrity, Business Intelligence and Open, Scaleable Integration of information across processing plants. Live demonstrations of Foundation systems offered the small groups the opportunity for hands-on experience and further discussion with fieldbus experts from the host companies and members of the Fieldbus Foundation CIS&B Marketing Committee.
Dmitri Volkov, Chairman of the FFCIS&B, was delighted with the interest shown in the practical benefits of Foundation technology by attendees at the show. "The formula of the presentations worked very well. By holding a focused presentation and demonstration several times throughout the show on two key stands at the exhibition, we were able to reach an audience of about 50 end users."
He continued, "Visitors welcomed the flexibility of choosing a time to suit their schedules and also appreciated the flexible approach of the presenters to suit the audience."
The NEFTEGAZ/MIOGE exhibition attracts participation by leading manufacturers of oil and gas production equipment and oil refining equipment from across the globe. Visitor and exhibitor numbers are usually high with over 900 exhibitors and over 32,000 visitors registered for NEFTEGAZ 2006.
