Over 200 Delegates Attend Middle East Events

dec08_me_pics_005dec08_me_pics_001The Fieldbus Foundation Middle East Marketing Committee (FFMEMC) is delighted with the success of its recent marketing initiatives held from Dec 15-17 2008 across the region. Over the three days, the FFMEMC welcomed over 200 end users and engineering contractors to its events.

On December 15th 2008, an evening presentation and dinner was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Abu Dhabi - hosted by the FFMEMC and in cooperation with ISA.

Updates on the technical developments and progress of Foundation fieldbus, including a focus on wireless developments were presented followed by an update of local ISA activities.

The FFMEMC then hosted two further end user events - one at the Marriott Doha, Qatar, on December 16th and one at the Hilton Resort, Kuwait, on December 17th. Following similar formats, the seminars took place at the conveniently located hotel venues during the morning and were followed by a complimentary lunch for all attendees.

Following the theme "Foundation Fieldbus - Engineering the Future", both events included a comprehensive program of presentations including an update of the Fieldbus Foundation's technical developments and presentations about the implementation of Foundation technology from an engineering contractor and end user perspective.

A discussion and question and answer session with the presenters and Foundation experts offered attendees a valuable opportunity to share applications experiences and gain practical insights into the implementation of Foundation fieldbus within their own processes.

Mouritz Jankowitz, member of the FFMEMC commented, "The committee has found a formula that seems to work by dovetailing easily into the engineer's busy working day. Attendees appreciate the focused approach of the technical updates and the opportunity to continue discussions over a meal with their fellow delegates and presenters." He continued, "the FFMEMC will continue its marketing program throughout 2009 and will publish the new schedule in due course."
