National End User Meeting & Conference - Mumbai - 19 June 09

dsc_0198The Fieldbus Foundation India Marketing Committee (FFIMC), and its users' wing, Fieldbus Foundation End User Council (FFIEUC), conducted  a one day National End Users Meeting & Conference at  ITC-The Maratha, Sahar Road, Andheri (East), Mumbai. The conference got an overwhelming response and had more than 250 participants from various end users and vendors, from the Oil & Gas, Refineries & Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Primaries, Food & Pharmaceuticals industry. The deliberations of the day kept the audience engaged up till 06:30 pm, yearning to learn more of the fast growing technology.

dsc_0041The event was inaugurated by Mr. Rich Timoney,  President & CEO Fieldbus Foundation, and Mr. Hisashi Sasajima, President Asia Pacific and had several other dignitaries from the globe. This included Mr. Shane Parr of Pepperl+Fuchs, and also the Chairman - Fieldbus Foundation Executive Advisory Council - Asia Pacific; Mr. John Eva of Invensys and member of the Fieldbus Foundation Board of Directors; Mr. Bharat R. Mehta, Sr. Vice President Reliance Industries Ltd. and Chairman - Fieldbus Foundation India End User Council and Mr. Thampy Mathew of Pepperl+Fuchs and Chairman - FFIMC.

dsc_0026The event had 15 presentations from leading technology suppliers and users. While the vendors shared information on the latest technological developments of Foundation technology, the end users shared their experience in implementing Foundation fieldbus systems into their own process automation applications.

There was also a live demo from 17 vendors from the Fieldbus Foundation's leading instrumentation companies, and was supported by the member companies namely ABB, Beamax-Warree, Belden, Dresser, Emerson, Endress+Hauser, Hima-Larsen & Toubro, Honeywell, Invensys, Joseph Leslie Drager, Lapp India, Leoni Kerpen-Baliga, Moore/ Eckardt- Chemtrols, MTL, North Wire, Pepperl+Fuchs, Rockwell Automation, SMAR-Laxsons Automation, Softing-Dearbon, Stahl, Turck, Yamatake Corporation and Yokogawa. The live demos helped the delegates to interact with the vendors and get information on their range. Moreover, they could see the devices, accessories, control systems, software and various components like cables used in implementing such projects.
