The Fieldbus Foundation Central & Eastern Europe Marketing Committee (FFCEEMC), established in September 2008, held a successful committee meeting and "Meet the Press" event in Budapest, Hungary earlier this year.
The two day meeting from March 9-10th had a clear focus - to establish a clear, well-defined strategy for the promotion of Foundation fieldbus technology throughout the CEE region and to review current actions.
The FFCEEMC is initially committed to three main objectives:
- To promote an increased awareness and enhanced understanding of Foundation fieldbus technology throughout the Central and Eastern European region through a range of end user focused activities - particularly training seminars
- To provide technical information and support about Foundation technology and its applications to users and potential users of Foundation technology throughout the Central and Eastern European region in all local languages
- To work towards building close working relationships with end users, engineering contractors and potential implementers of Foundation technology to facilitate the sharing of applications experiences and knowledge
The FFCEEMC intends to schedule several training roadshows thoughout the CEE region with the opportunity for "hands-on" practical experience using a demonstration Foundation host system and devices. The benefits of practical "hands-on" experience to seminar attendees has been proven at numerous Fieldbus Foundation roadshows and seminars held by other national marketing committees.
The CEE pages of the Fieldbus Foundation website are constantly being updated with news of forthcoming events and documents available in local languages. The Fieldbus Foundation EMEA End User Brochure is now available in pdf format in the following languages: English, German, Czech, Slovakian, Hungarian and Turkish. Over the forthcoming months, the brochure will also be available in Bulgarian, Romanian, Polish, Serbia & Bosnian and Slovenian languages. Available brochures may be downloaded from the CEE webpages in pdf format.
The "Meet The Press" event was hosted by FFCEEMC chairman Jürgen George on the evening of March 9th. Members of the Hungarian press enjoyed an exclusive opportunity to be updated with a review of the Fieldbus Foundation, its technological developments and the FFCEEMC's plans for reaching its marketing objectives throughout the CEE region. An informal dinner provided an ideal forum for further detailed discussions with members of the FFCEEMC members.
