“Fieldbus Life Cycle Economics” Presentation Held - Bulcontrola 2010, Sofia, Bulgaria

bulcontrola10_bmladenov-dimitar_bonchevThe Fieldbus Foundation Central and Eastern European Marketing Committee (FFCEEMC) welcomed 12 participants, including suppliers, planners, end users and members of the press, to its presentation about "Fieldbus Life Cycle Economics" on Thursday 15th April 2010.

Hosted by FFCEEMC member Borislav Mladenov, and organised by FFCEEMC member companies Emerson Process Management, Yokogawa and Pepperl+Fuchs, the presentation was part of the conference programme at the Bulcontrola 2010 exhibition and conference at the Inter Expo & Congress Centre, Sofia, Bulgaria.

The presentation was delivered in Bulgarian language by Borislav Mladenov with support from Dimitar Bonchev and Bedros Telalian - all members of the FFCEEMC. They revealed the technical benefits and economic advantages of Foundation technology quoting statements from end users. Users' calculations over the life cycle of a process automation plant proved the economical success of the technology. A very lively and fruitful discussion amongst the attendees regarding Foundation fieldbus applications followed the presentation.

FFCEEMC chairman Jürgen George was delighted with the success of the event. "This is the first public Foundation fieldbus presentation held in local language in Bulgaria. The FFCEEMC is committed to holding more presentations like this across the CEE region. Our published schedule of forthcoming events will bring us back to Bulgaria and also take us to Poland, the Czech Republic, Turkey and Austria.

Now in its 39th year, Bulcontrola 2010 is a key international trade fair for measurement, control, automation and environmental technology in Bulgaria. From 13-16th April over 70 companies presented products from more than 150 manufacturers throughout Bulgaria, Germany, Italy, Poland, France, Austria, Czech Republic, UK, Turkey and other additional countries. Held in Sofia, the administrative, economic and logistic centre of Bulgaria, the exhibition attracted engineers, technicians, ecology specialists, scientific workers and professionals from a broad range of industries all over the country and from neighbouring countries. Bulcontrola is enjoying year on year expansion in response to the increased need for local producers, suppliers and technical experts to respond to new market conditions brought about by changes in the Bulgarian business environment and freedom from trade barriers.

Foundation fieldbus is the technology of choice in process automation applications across the CEE region. End users are realising the benefits of Foundation fieldbus in terms of reduced commissioning times, reduced maintenance, wide availability of registered devices and host systems and the CapEx and OpEx savings achievable. The Foundation solution delivers open, scalable integration, process integrity and business intelligence across the plant enterprise.

The FFCEEMC is committed to promoting Foundation technology to end users and EPCs through end user focused training seminars and is actively supporting users and prospective users in the local languages of the region. A network of "partners" is being established to ensure that support is available to all users or potential users - whether it's a need for basic training, the sharing of installation experiences, project definition, commissioning or maintenance.
