The Fieldbus Foundation Central & Eastern Europe Marketing Committee (FFCEEMC), established in September 2008, held a successful committee meeting and "Meet the Press" event at the Yokogawa Europe offices in Bucharest, Romania.
The two day meeting from 22-23 March had a clear focus - to continue to develop its well-defined strategy for the promotion of Foundation fieldbus technology throughout the CEE region and to review current actions.
Attendees included representatives of Emerson Process Management, Honeywell, MTL, Pepperl+Fuchs, R. Stahl, Turck and Yokogawa.
At the end of the first day, a "Meet the Press" event was hosted by FFCEEMC chairman Juergen George, and vice-chairman Jozef Schulcz from Yokogawa's Austrian office. Members of the Romanian press were invited to join members of the FFCEEMC to be updated with a review of the Fieldbus Foundation, its technological developments and the FFCEEMC's plans for reaching its marketing objectives throughout the CEE region. An informal tour of Bucharest and dinner at a local restaurant provided a relaxed environment for further discussions.
The FFCEEMC is initially committed to three main objectives:
- To promote an increased awareness and enhanced understanding of Foundation fieldbus technology throughout the CEE region through a range of end user focused activities - particularly training seminars
- To provide technical information and support about Foundation technology and its applications to users and potential users of Foundation technology throughout the CEE region in all local languages
- To work towards building close working relationships with end users, engineering contractors and potential implementers of Foundation technology to facilitate the sharing of applications experiences and knowledge
Juergen George thanked Yokogawa Europe for hosting the FFCEEMC meeting, "We have enjoyed a productive committee meeting in Bucharest and are grateful to Andreea Nastasescu for all her support and hospitality. The team is looking forward to accomplishing another set of targets - we will have a busy year preparing for end user events in Serbia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland, Austria and Croatia and will continue to develop a series of technical and application notes for its CEE webpages".
