Italian Study Day Focuses on IEC EN 62603 - Sept 20 - Milan
itmc_20.9.11_audience_webitmc_20.9.11_demo_webIn collaboration with CEI and CLUII/EXERA*, the Fieldbus Foundation Italian Marketing Committee recently co-hosted a study day to focus on the new international standard IEC EN 62603 for the evaluation of control systems, and how Foundation technology helps meet the functional needs of system projects.


itmc_20.9.11_audience_2_webitmc_20.9.11_screen_webHeld in Concorezzo, nr Milan, Italy, on 20th September, 2011, the study day included a presentation by Prof. Paolo Pinceti of the University of Genoa and coordinator of the IEC EN 62603 working group. He outlined the scope of the new standard and the considerations to be made when implementing a new control system project.

Also included in the agenda were presentations about Foundation fieldbus technology and how it fully meets the specific needs of IEC EN standards 61784, 61158 and now the new evaluation standard IEC EN 62603. Of particular interest were the live Foundation technology demonstrations of project commissioning and device diagnostics and maintenance using an Emerson Process Management demonstration unit.

itmc_20.9.11_lunch_webNearly 70 delegates from more than 40 of Italy's key end users, EPCs and sub-contractors were represented. Attendees were able to visit table top displays of the sponsoring companies' products and services during the coffee and lunch breaks and at the conclusion of the day's schedule.
