Remote Operations Management

ROM Schedule


In 2012, the Fieldbus Foundation invited its members which include prominent industry leading manufacturers and developers from all over the world to participate in the development of FOUNDATION for Remote Operations Management devices and the execution of successful global demonstrations. The Foundation has also been active in the pursuit of end user sites across the world that require open technology with the capability to manage large count remote assets within the same control system architecture in a managed and common infrastructure. There are three major media events in 2012 that have been completed to showcase the benefits of FOUNDATION for ROM;

  • Fieldbus Foundation General Assembly - Sao Paulo, Brasil - March 6-8, 2012 - Completed
  • Achema 2012 - Frankfurt, Germany - June 18-22, 2012 - Completed
  • Jemima 2012 - Osaka, Japan - October 31-November 2, 2012 - Completed.


In 2013, the Fieldbus Foundation will begin executing a series of live demonstrations of FOUNDATION for Remote Operations Management in plant applications. This will be an exciting time for the Fieldbus Foundation and its FOUNDATION for ROM development partners. The first live demonstration will be held at Petrobras in Brasil. In 2014-2015, the Fieldbus Foundation will continue its executions of global live demonstrations showcasing the strong value FOUNDATION for ROM delivers to end users demanding non-proprietary and interoperable system architecture.
